Live Tuition
Other than my live revision weekend training, Schatz Legal Learning also provides a full training course, both long and intensive. You only have three attempts to pass the SQE in a six-year period, so it’s really important to make sure you’re ready before sitting the exams. The best way to prepare is with our specialised courses for each part of the SQE assessment.
SQE1 - long course- ideal when studying part-time
- The current course started in February 2025, with a view to sitting the SQE1 exam in January 2026. Delegates still wishing to join will be able to access all past live sessions as recordings, and join the ongoing live classes.
- Classes are on-line via Zoom at *10.30am-11.45am GMT each Saturday for 34 weeks [excluding reading weeks and public holidays] and each session will be recorded, password protected and posted for you to start keeping a ‘file’ of the recordings for your revision. At the end of the course for SQE1 you will be invited at no extra cost to the revision weekend/master class (35th week) just before the sitting of the exams [see my ‘Live Revision weekend’ page for details].
- The second intake will start on 19th July 2025 with a view to you sitting in July 2026, at the same times.

SQE1 Functioning Legal Knowledge sample questions
SQE1 is the first part of the SQE assessment and tests the application of functioning legal knowledge. The structure of SQE1 is set out below. This is a computer-based single best answer multiple choice test.
Each question is followed by five suggested answers. The correct answer is the best of the stated alternatives and is provided alongside the sample questions. There will only be one correct answer.
You can access a short video on Understanding the anatomy of an SQE1 question. Although questions may be of different lengths, the video explains that they follow the structure of having a stem (or fact pattern), the lead in (or question) and five options (or answers).
The SQE/SRA have released a total of 130 sample questions. These are split equally between FLK1 (65 questions) and FLK2 (65 questions)
Please note that the SQE is an external assessment. The cost of this is not included in your course fee. See SQE/SRA website for details Booking assessments | SQE | Solicitors Regulation Authority
